Mr. Krobo Edusei Jnr., a distinguished entrepreneur and visionary leader, has built a legacy that spans over four decades, transforming trade, logistics, healthcare and industrial development across Ghana and beyond. As the Group Executive Chairman of Safebond Africa Investment Group, he has spearheaded the company’s growth into a pivotal player in regional commerce, with operations extending across Tema and Takoradi ports in Ghana, as well as offices in Sierra Leone and Liberia. Under his leadership, Safebond Africa Limited and its subsidiaries have revolutionized logistics, port operations, and healthcare delivery, fortifying Ghana’s position as a preferred trade hub and a beacon of economic transformation.

Mr. Edusei’s exceptional business acumen and ability to identify and seize strategic opportunities have positioned him as one of Ghana’s most influential industrialists. From leading the modernization of logistics infrastructure to pioneering advancements in healthcare through Bond Medical Services, his initiatives have driven sustainable development and strengthened Ghana’s global competitiveness. His ventures span multiple industries, including mining through JCL and oil and gas through Selig Services, where he continues to champion innovative practices and regional collaboration.

With extensive international experience, Mr. Edusei has held executive roles across Africa and Europe, driving industrial growth in logistics, energy, and trade. His leadership extends to initiatives like establishing Carbon Energy Limited as Nigeria’s largest steel importer and representing Daimler Puch in Africa. His influence is also evident in ground-breaking public-private partnerships and regional expansions into São Tomé’s port management sector, underscoring his vision for integrated trade and investment solutions.

A graduate in Economics from Heidelberg/Mannheim University, with fluency in English and German, Mr. Edusei has augmented his expertise through several Executive Masters Leadership Programs. This foundation has empowered him to foster industry-wide transformation while addressing community needs through impactful corporate social responsibility initiatives. Newton Brenya is the Vice Chairman of Safebond Africa Investment Group, bringing over 28 years of leadership experience in the maritime and logistics industry. With a strong educational background in Business Administration from Ghana and the UK, he has held several managerial positions in top-tier organizations in Ghana and abroad.

His career in the maritime sector began with Speedline Stevedoring Company Ltd., where he was a key management member. Speedline was one of the first private stevedoring companies licensed in Ghana, giving Newton extensive expertise in cargo handling, logistics management, and trade facilitation.

As Vice Chairman of Safebond Africa, Newton provides strategic oversight, business advisory, and operational guidance to ensure growth, efficiency, and innovation across the group’s diverse business operations. His deep industry knowledge and leadership acumen continue to drive Safebond’s expansion and market dominance in logistics, port management, and trade facilitation.

Leonid Nii Lamptey is the Managing Director of Safebond Africa Investment Group and its related companies. With extensive experience spanning banking, finance, law, engineering, and organizational development, he has played a pivotal role in Safebond’s strategic growth and expansion both in Ghana and across international markets.

Leonid began his career with one of the leading blue-chip engineering firms in the UK, gaining hands-on experience in corporate operations and project execution. He later transitioned into the banking sector in Ghana, where he worked in Project Finance and Human Resource Management, leading key training initiatives and large-scale project financing strategies.

In 2016, he joined Safebond Africa as General Manager, bringing his strong financial acumen, legal expertise, and business strategy insights to the company. His leadership, innovative problem-solving, and operational excellence led to his appointment as Managing Director, where he now oversees business expansion, corporate governance, and operational efficiency.

Leonid holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Ghana, a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Middlesex University, UK, and a second degree in Law. His diverse expertise has been instrumental in positioning Safebond Africa as a leader in logistics, trade facilitation, and economic transformation.

Catherine Annie-Annan is the Group Deputy Managing Director of Safebond Africa Investment Group, bringing over 21 years of experience in the ports, maritime, energy, transport, and logistics sectors. She has played a key role in Safebond’s expansion, business development, and strategic partnerships, positioning the company as a leader in trade facilitation and infrastructure development.

She began her career at Volta River Authority (VRA) in 1998, where she served as Head of the Energy-Efficient Project, before transitioning to Mobil Oil Ghana. In 2003, she joined Safebond Africa Investment Group, where she started as Group Marketing and Business Development Manager before rising to Group Deputy Managing Director.

Catherine has been instrumental in Safebond’s entry into Ghana’s oil and gas industry, expanding the company’s operations and enhancing its influence in key sectors. As Lead Coordinator for all Safebond’s international projects, she has overseen strategic planning, business development, and project execution, ensuring the successful implementation of multinational trade and infrastructure initiatives.

She holds a degree in Economics and Sociology from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), an Executive Master’s in Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of Ghana, a Certificate in Project Management from Rand Afrikaans University (now the University of Johannesburg) in South Africa, and a Certificate in Public Relations from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

Her leadership, strategic insight, and business acumen continue to drive Safebond’s growth and operational excellence in Ghana and beyond.

Jimoh Yekeen

Jimoh Yekeen is the Executive Director of Human Resources at Safebond Africa Investment Group and a pioneer member of the company. With over two decades of experience in human resource management, he has played a critical role in shaping the company’s workforce, culture, and operational efficiency.

He rose through the ranks from Administrative Manager – HR to his current position on January 1, 2002. Under his leadership, the Human Resource Department has evolved into a strategic pillar of the organization, ensuring talent acquisition, employee development, and organizational growth. His expertise has been instrumental in supporting Safebond’s transformation from a small and medium-sized company into a multinational enterprise with a strong presence in various industries.

Jimoh is a seasoned economist and human resource expert with an M.Phil. in Economics/Econometrics from the University of Bergen, Norway. He also holds a Certificate in Mediation and is a Chartered Mediator, bringing valuable expertise in conflict resolution and organizational dynamics. Over the years, he has enriched his knowledge through numerous local and international HR, leadership, and mediation training programs.

Edwin Kusi-Appiah is the Head of Legal at Safebond Africa Investment Group and a pioneer member of the company. He has been instrumental in shaping the company’s legal framework, governance, and compliance strategies.

Having risen through the ranks from Business Development and Public Relations Officer to Head of Legal in July 2006, Edward played a pivotal role in establishing the company’s Legal Department. He has since led and represented Safebond Africa and its subsidiaries in all legal matters, ensuring regulatory compliance and corporate governance excellence.

With a career spanning nearly two decades, Edward has been a key driver of Safebond’s transition from a small and medium-sized enterprise to a multinational company. His expertise has supported numerous business expansions, both locally and internationally.

He is a qualified lawyer, having graduated from the Ghana School of Law and is a professional member of the Ghana Bar Association. He also holds an Executive MBA in Business Administration and an LL.B degree, both from the University of Ghana, Legon.

Nana’s career is a testament to his deep expertise in logistics, strategic planning, and operational excellence. He consistently combines advanced technology with traditional methods to foster innovation and achieve organizational goals. His leadership is marked by meticulous financial analysis and collaborative strategies that ensure long-term success. Fluent in French and skilled in cross-cultural communication, he excels in uniting diverse teams to drive impactful results.

Godfred Asare is the General Manager, Finance at Safebond Car Terminal Ltd. and a pioneer member of Safebond Africa Investment Group. With a career spanning nearly two decades, he has played a key role in financial strategy, business expansion, and operational efficiency within the organization.

He rose through the ranks from Financial Accountant to his current position in July 2006, demonstrating exceptional leadership in financial planning and management. He currently oversees the financial operations of Safebond Car Terminal at Tema Port, ensuring financial sustainability, compliance, and operational efficiency. His expertise has been vital in Safebond’s growth from a medium-sized company to a multinational organization, facilitating the establishment of new business ventures locally and internationally.

A Chartered Accountant, Godfred is a professional member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG). He also holds an Executive Master’s in Business Administration (EMBA) – Finance from the University of Ghana, Legon. Over the years, he has enhanced his expertise through numerous local and international training programs and workshops in finance and business leadership.

Elsie Yasmin Duogu is the Deputy General Manager, Finance & Procurement at Safebond Africa Investment Group and a pioneer member of the company since September 2003. Over the years, she has demonstrated exceptional professional growth, rising from a Secretary to a senior leadership role, where she plays a key role in financial management, procurement negotiations, and strategic business operations.

In her current role, Mrs. Duogu oversees procurement processes, negotiates business contracts, and supports financial decision-making to ensure the company’s continued growth. She also assists the General Manager, Finance (Safebond Company Limited, Takoradi), in managing financial operations, contributing to the company’s financial efficiency and strategic expansion.

Her leadership has been instrumental in Safebond’s transformation from a medium-sized enterprise into a multinational organization, ensuring financial sustainability and operational excellence.

She holds a BSc in Accounting from Central University and an Executive MBA in Finance from the University of Ghana, Legon. In addition, she has undergone various professional training programs to enhance her expertise in finance, procurement, and business management.

Stephen Amo is the General Manager, Finance (Takoradi Business) at Safebond Africa Investment Group and a pioneer member of the company. With an extensive career spanning over two decades, he has played a crucial role in financial management, strategic expansion, and business structuring within the organization.

Starting as a Financial Accountant, he rose through the ranks to his current position in July 2003. He was initially responsible for overseeing the entire financial operations of Safebond Company Limited, which managed shore handling services for conventional cargo and vehicles at both Tema and Takoradi Ports. Following structural adjustments in July 2007 and November 2011, he transitioned to overseeing the Takoradi Port business, where he continues to drive financial efficiency and operational success.

Beyond his role in Ghana, Amo also serves as Director of Finance and Administration for Safebond Africa Consortium (STP), an international venture contracted to manage the Port of São Tomé and Príncipe under a concession agreement. His financial leadership has been instrumental in the expansion of Safebond Africa, transforming it from a medium-sized company into a multinational and global enterprise.

He is a Chartered Accountant and a professional member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG). Amo also holds an Executive MBA in Finance from the University of Ghana, Legon, and has attended numerous local and international finance and business leadership training programs.

Okai Deo-Datus Gemegah

General Manager, Operations

Okai Deo-Datus Gemegah is the General Manager, Operations at Safebond Africa Investment Group and a pioneer member of the company. With over two decades of experience in port operations, logistics management, and corporate leadership, he has played a critical role in optimizing operational efficiency, trade facilitation, and business expansion within the group.

He rose through the ranks from Operations Officer to General Manager, Operations, demonstrating exceptional leadership in supply chain optimization, safety management, and process automation. Under his guidance, Safebond’s Operations Department has been instrumental in transforming the company from a medium-sized enterprise into a multinational organization, securing major contracts and partnerships that have solidified its market dominance.

His leadership saw Safebond securing a 20-year BOT contract with GPHA for car terminal operations, doubling vessel turnaround speed, and significantly reducing delivery time from five days to one through automated RDS processes. His strategic approach to workplace safety and environmental compliance also improved EPA ratings, earning Safebond extended contracts due to exceptional performance. Beyond port operations, Okai has held leadership positions across various divisions, including his role as Global Manager for Downstream Operations, HSE, and Port Security at Safebond Consortium STP in 2022, where he oversaw international trade logistics and compliance.

Okai holds an MSc in Service Management from the University of Buckingham, UK, specializing in Integrated Service Management, Service Operations, and Leadership. He also has a BA in Geography from the University of Ghana and has undergone extensive international training in logistics, port security, occupational safety, and conflict resolution.
